Believe only in the Bible?

Believe only in the Bible?

She kept on asking where the proof is in the Bible and she kept on insisting that if it is not exactly in the Bible, she won’t accept it. By that position, it means that anything that must be taught in Christianity must be found literally in the Bible.

Yet, when we opened the same Bible she held so firmly as the only foundation of all Christian teachings and learning, this is what we found:

“Stand firm, then, brothers, and keep the traditions that we taught you, whether by word of mouth or by letter” ( 2Thessolonians 2:15).

When she was asked “which ones are “by letter?” , she used her index finger to knock on the Bible. However, when she was asked which ones are by mouth, she only kept on looking at me as her mouth tried to say something.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, as you are reading this, you are reasoning and that’s why you are able to understand what you are reading. So, why do you throw away your reasoning when you read the bible? Does believing in Christ mean that you must never read with your brain or ask questions?

Are you exactly even in the bible if not in the outplay of the biblical narratives from Genesis to Revelation, but you believe in yourself?

This is unfair to yourself and to Christ.
