Shanahan University: Archdiocese of Onitsha Innaugrates Board of Trustees (BOT)

The Archbishop of Onitsha, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke announced the innaugration of the Shanahan University Board of Trustees (BOT) on Thursday, 28th September 2023. This was communicated through the Archbishop’s Facebook page.

“We continue to thank God for our Shanahan University situated in the heart of the commercial city of Onitsha, as we inaugurated the Board of Trustees (BOT) for our University. It was an opportunity to set the ball rolling while brainstorming on the way forward for an achievable and excellent result through practicable steps and strategies for the smooth running of the University. The Shanahan University will remain a beacon of hope and a vanguard of academic distinction and first-rateness rooted in our culture of excellence.”

A board of trustees is an appointed or elected group of persons that has overall responsibility for the management of an organization. The board of trustees is typically the governing body of an organization and seeks to ensure the best interest of stakeholders in all types of management decisions.

Moreover, visiting the National University Commission’s website (nuc.edu.ng), Shanahan University, Onitsha, Anambra State, is the no.134 of the private universities recognized by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Thus, Shanahan University is the first and the only university in Onitsha metropolis.
